Once cut and split, firewood can be conveyed to different types of storage points: boxes, containers, heaps or directly to some means of transport on the road. Among the various solutions chosen by Pezzolato for the unloading and distribution of the cut firewood inside adjacent boxes or containers, we now take into consideration the \u2018tower\u2019 system. This solution makes it possible, by means of a series of rubber belts, to bring the processed firewood to an elevated position over the boxes or containers where it will be then stored. In some plants, firewood is collected in large boxes until the right humidity level is achieved. At this point, by means of an automatic tilting system, the logs are transferred into a vibrating belt that feeds a dedicated screen for the final cleaning of the wood. \nThese machines allow a huge amount of cut logs to be fed into the production process and, therefore, it is advisable to integrate a sufficiently large storage section to collect the material while waiting to proceed with screening and splitting. For this reason, Pezzolato has designed and developed over the years the so-called \u2018S-belt\u2019: an accumulation and transfer belt for cut logs consisting of a robust electro-welded structure with a closed chain, whose main function is to create a collection lung positioned before the splitting station.

\nThe double screw with variable passage is a further step in the automation of the firewood production: the logs, once cut, fall into a machine that makes them move forwards to a double endless screw. \nThe Pezzolato \u2018tower\u2019 system allows the operator to act comfortably from the control panel of the equipment, choosing not only which container to unload into, but even changing the angle and depth of the unloading point. Thanks to a camera system, the operator visualizes the progressive filling of the containers and acts on the belt and its orientation by means of a fifth wheel and of the guides and rails.
